To all my fellow foodies, this a post for you especially if you're going to Hawaii! I think this is also my first food blog! Also check out #whattanyaeats and #tanyaeatsabroad on Instagram for pictures from my food adventures.
North Shore Food Truck
I still can't stop thinking about the Garlic Shrimp that I had! It was probably the best thing I've ever eaten. It's a lightly batter deep fried Garlic Shrimp with rice and salad. I had this whilst looking across at the beautiful shark cove with a tropical pineapple drink. That was living! I believe its called North Shore Shrimp Truck (link to it here)
You know you love a place if you go more than once especially on a short holiday! We went to this place twice. They seriously do the best chips here, which accompanies their burgers. A thing to consider is that they do their patties medium (if you read the find prints you'll realise this) however you can ask them to cook it to your liking just let them know when you order.
We went here on our last day and I ended up having it for breakfast and lunch. I had a bit of a dilemma at breakfast as I couldn't decide if I wanted a bagel or Acai bowl, so why not have both! I had the salmon bagel for breakfast, it was such a good bagel with a iced matcha latte (Australia coffee shops please get onto these!) that was made to perfection. I had the acai bowl for lunch and took it the beach, a pretty good last food day if you ask me!
This place kinda looks dodgy if you're walking past it and don't really think anything of it. But once you get inside, theres a pineapples lined up along their shelves. This is a quick grab your acai bowl and go place but there are about 10 seats (if that) available. They do an Acai bowl topped with pineapple which at first I thought was kinda weird, but I really liked it!
Side note: These places were kinda average in terms of price range. However if you do compare it to Australia with the conversion, I would say it would be quite pricey. Hawaii does high cost of living which I guess was a key factor in how much things cost. Most of them would be between around $15-$25 USD+ tips. So it wasn't as if I was splurging on meals but most meals did cost me around $20USD if I had an acai bowl, drink and tips which I wouldn't say is necessarily cheap in Australian terms.

I can not stop raving about this Acai bowl! This is the creme de la creme for Acai bowls. After seeing Alexis Ren, My life as Eva, Jay Alvarrez and pretty much everyone who's goes to hawaii having an acai bowl from this place as an acai fanatic I had to try it. It did not disappoint! I had the normal blend bowl, the acai was topped with granola and fruit with a drizzle of honey. One issues is whilst I was eating this delicious bowl, chickens paid us a visit, something to be mindful of if you hate birds like me!

So if my last day couldn't get any better, I had cheesecake factory for dinner! We had this twice as well I couldn't get over the pasta it was so good, and don't forget the world famous cheesecake! We had to indulge a bit for our last day, we had a main each, a cheesecake and a drink. I got my favourite lava flow! Also, would highly recommend the classic cheesecake, I don't think anything beats it, to be honest. I would also suggest you share, the meals are huge and the cheesecake is super filling!
This is true to its name, Heavenly sources its products locally. It has the cutest menu that illustrates it. I had the Waffles with Hawaiian fruits and it was such a tropical & fresh brekkie. The perfect meal to start the day. Also the food was very photogenic!
Goofy Cafe
1831 Ala Moana Blvd #201, Honolulu, HI 96815, USA
This was a little cafe that did Hawaiian slash Asian fusion food. We went there for breakfast and I had the Acai bowl which wasn't as big as I hoped but still quite filling! Except they don't have a huge dining area, so we had to wait probably a good 20 minutes!

My favourite thing about this place was their iced matcha lattes! They don't have a big selection of food but if you're on the way to Pearl Harbour on the bus stop or just near kaka'ako stop by here for breakfast. Also there some awesome painted walls and graffiti in the nearby streets which is pretty cool! Have a little walk around, you don't have to go far to find some beautiful artwork.

They did a pretty good donut almost as good as the Byron Bay donuts! Also if you go to the main store you'll get a pretty cute vintage diner type pic outside, trust me I've stalked all their instagram pictures! That one was a bit out of the way for us, but we did find the food truck near the outlets!
I ate a lot! I must say had a pretty good food trip!
Until next time....

1. Visiting the North Shore

2. Diamond Heads
This was lovely hike and highly recommended by everyone who has been on it! There is a incredible view of Waikiki and it beautiful on a sunny day. However I would highly suggest wearing joggers, even though some tourist sites have said you can do it in sandals. The paths are rocky and not all flat! We saw all ages on the tracks however there is a steep stair case and a longish dark tunnel however there is an alternative route that allows you to reach the top with out going through them.
3. Snorkelling
The two places we went snorkelling were Hanamua bay and Shark Cove. The tourist destination for snorkelling is Hanamua bay however I liked Shark Cove a lot better. There were less people around, meaning you would get kicked in the face. I think we saw a lot more fishes there as well however if Hanamua bay is the only place you can visit, it's beautiful as well!

5. Kailua Beach
This is one of the most beautiful beaches, that we went to! However would not recommend on a windy day as you'll end up with sand through your hair and in your mouth! If you're in luck and go to Kailua on a sunny day, it is super relaxing.
There's my top five things to do in Oahu! I think I have one more post about Hawaii, a food one, coming your way.......soon.

It's been a good while since I've posted! I've been doing a whole lot while I've been away, including travelling to Hawaii. A lot of amazing memories were made and of course a lot of photos were taken. I'm gonna call this part 1 of my Hawaii posts. We spent our first few days in Maui. The only thing I think I'll say about Maui is: YOU NEED A CAR! Yes there were buses, but unless you wanted to be trapped on a bus for hours, I would suggest a car, from day 1! We didn't and we didn't get very far but it was still very relaxing, lying on the beach and just being on holidays. We stayed at the Aston Kaanapali shores, the rooms there were quite big. But it was a good 10 min bus trip to Whalers Village where all the shops were/a decent beach were. The closest town to us was Lahaina, a cute little town, that have some good restaurants and broad walks that face the sea. The other day we had we spent a Napili beach, this place was beautiful and very relaxing.
Until next time....

I've always battled with acne. It was a lot worst when I was in high school but my skin has cleared up a tad, I do get the odd spots here and there. These are my favourite products on trying to fight them. These product definitely don't get rid of them straight a way but for me they minimise the breakouts.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel Cleanser-This is my go-to cleanser. I takes a majority of my makeup and leave my skin feeling super clean and fresh. I use this when I need to really, anytime of the day.
Bioderma Sebium- I have oily skin so I've picked up the one that says oily skin (duh). I have yet to try the normal one which everyone raves on about. But I've gone through so many of these bottles! Once again I use it day and night, after I cleanse, it just removes any other dirt or makeup. I use it with a cotton pad and the dirt left over is kinda gross! haha It's good to use this before applying any spot treatments, just so I know I've completely cleaned my face. Also it's perfect to clean up any makeup smudges!
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion- This has been raved about by many celebs, I've had this probably for a month now. It definitely drys out my spots and minimises it slightly. I recommend putting this on, if you can, late afternoon (after you remove all you makeup NOT on top of it) and leaving it on till night. I've read reviews that say put it on overnight, I've tried that and for me it just rubs off (I think cos I roll around in my sleep). So I put it on the afternoon/night like 5-6ish, and leaving it on till just before I go to bed.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo- THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE HOLY GRAIL FOR ACNE! sorry for the capitals but seriously! I love this thing! I apply a layer over my face if the acne's particularly bad but sometimes just on spots. Once again it doesn't make it disappear but it makes is seem smaller. So quick little run down, generally I'll have shower 5-6ish pm after work/uni or whatever I have on, cleanse, bioderma, drying lotion, then cleanse before bed then apply this. If it's a late night, then I'll apply the efflacar duo then the drying lotion over it before bed if there's heaps of spots.
Sanctuary Spa Mask- I love putting this mask one. I try to do it once a week. It starts off hot which is super relaxing! And after about 10 mins I'll take it off (it say 5 but I don't really follow that). I think this might be second or third bottle I've gone through.
I hope this post helps if you're battling acne. Not all products will work on everyone but I hope some of them work for you! Let me know if you'd like to see a video on this!
Lots of Love,
Tanya
